The history of Japanese calligraphy has started by introduction of
Kanji from China in 1 or 2 century.
The first introduced characters ware cast
in coin.
The word is "貨泉".
A right character is "貨", and a left character is "泉".
Then, Japanese calligraphy was developed rapidly because Buddhism was
handed down and Prince Shotoku and Prince Shomu started transcribing a sutra.
When you do
calligraphy, a brush, an inkstone, an ink stick (or Indian ink) and a paper is
require.
These items are called “Bunboushihou”.
The model of calligraphy is the
beautiful hand which ancient experts left.
The famous model of ancient China.
We can learn not only technique but
also the heart.
In Japan, calligraphy
has learned by children from ancient time.
Now, we are taught it in elementary
school and junior high school.
