In Japan, there are many
traditional arts. For example, kabuki, haiku, ceramics, textiles, flower
arrangement, tea ceremony, and so on. Most of these are derived from ancient
China and Korea. When Japanese government had traded with China, various
Chinese culture and skills were introduced by Asian continent.
In Tumulus period, Sueki which is a kind
of earthenware was brought by Korea. This is beginning of ceramics in Japan. Also
tea, manufacturing technology of paper and ink were introduced by Kentoshi. Without
these, tea ceremony and calligraphy would have not developed.
On the contrary, kabuki, waka and haiku
have developed in Japan. When Japanese government stopped trading with China,
foreign cultures didn’t flow into Japan. So, Japanese unique cultures have
developed.
